Omega Equipment & Supply is proud to join with a diverse group of North America’s leading cannabis cultivation and manufacturing experts to form the Sustainable Cannabis Coalition (SCC). The SCC will work proactively with industry cultivation and manufacturing peers and vendors to promote proven sustainability best practices that can be implemented at scale across the cannabis market.
“As the cannabis industry continues to expand, sustainability issues will become even more critical to address,” says Eric G. Myers, COO for Omega Equipment & Supply. “And it is always easier to try to address these issues early and proactively, rather than trying to retrofit solutions into established processes.”
The SCC has already hit the ground running with a number of resources already available through the SCC website. Articles written by SCC member organizations include such topics as:
- How the new Sustainable Cannabis Coalition can Improve Sustainability and Social Responsibility by Ira Weinstein, CohnReznick
- The Complicated Relationship Between Cannabis Compliance & Sustainability by Amy Larson, Simplifya
- The Essential 3-Point Checklist for Designing a Sustainable Cannabis Cultivation Facility by Niall McManus, Valiant
- Sustainable Lighting in Cultivation by Josh Armitage, Grow Generation
New articles are being added regularly. In addition, the SCC has launched a podcast to discuss the cannabis industry’s most pressing issues with some of the industry’s leading experts. This weekly podcast focuses on diverse topics and often includes special industry guests who help to provide a variety of perspectives on sustainability throughout the cannabis industry.
Omega Equipment & Supply is committed to working with our customers to find the best solutions for their specific businesses. Omega offers a number of sustainable solutions and will continue to work with our clients, partners, and vendors to support the mission of the Sustainable Cannabis Coalition.
